ACNP Nurse Practitioner Student Scholarship Award

Scholarship Details:
The recipient receives a one-year's membership in ACNP and $1000 scholarship. The Award is presented annually at the ACNP National Clinical Conference. This year's recipient will be announced at the 2009 Conference in Albuquerque, NM October 7-11, 2009. Next year's recipient will be named at the 2010 National Clinical Conference in Tampa, FL October 20-24, 2010. The recipient will receive a complementary registration to the Clinical Conference and a maximum of $750 to defer travel and lodging expenses.
Criteria for Nomination:

Proof of membership in ACNP

Proof of enrollment in an accredited NP program

2 letters of support from professional colleagues
-
Evidence of a 3.4 or higher grade point average

Evidence of distinction in any of the following areas:

Participation in a regional, state, or national professional organization
-
Promotion of the role of the nurse practitioner through a research project
-
Participation in legislative and policy- making activities at the local, state, or national level
-
Participation in community service.
Nomination Procedure
Applications for this year's Student Scholarship award are due by July 13, 2009. The application must be postmarked by July 13th to be considered for the 2009 Scholarship. The Awards Committee reviews the submissions and presents a recommendation to the Board of Directors for final approval. The award winner will be notified in early August and should plan to be present during the Annual ACNP National Clinical Symposium to receive recognition.
