A MESSAGE FROM ACNP PRESIDENT DR. THAD WILSON
Now is the time for action.
Recently the NP community was honored to provide a briefing about NP's in healthcare reform to congressional aides at our nation's capital. During the briefing one aide, very knowledgeable about healthcare reform, stood and strongly encouraged the NP community to take action NOW. With the speed of reform recommendations and action, she projected that by mid-summer, at the latest, that the opportunity for input into healthcare reform would be over.
We only have 6 - 8 weeks!! Please write, email or call your Congressperson and Senators NOW with a simple, but profound message - Nurse Practitioners must be included in any healthcare reform. Then, tell them what you do as an NP. Many aren't aware of the role of NP's and need some help understanding. For information on contacting your Members of Congress, click here.
PLEASE, don't hesitate. Act today or the window of opportunity will be soon closed.
